+91 33 7144 5590Brainware University was established under by an Act of the West Bengal legislature as a private university and is empowered to award degrees as specified under Section 22 of the UGC Act under its main campus in regular mode. The name of the university is included in the list of universities maintained by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
Brainware University has been established by Act XXXI of 2015 of the Government of West Bengal. βThe Brainware University Act, 2015β has been passed by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, and the same has been published in Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary on January 27, 2016. The provisions of the Brainware University Act, 2015, have come into effect from February 25, 2016, through the Government of West Bengal notification (No. 165-Edn (U)/IU β 125/2014) on February 24, 2016.

It is located at Barasat, the district headquarters of North 24 Parganas. It is very well connected with the main city. The nearest railway station (2km) is Barasat.
