Jump cut: Learning the rhythm and pace of video editing at Multimedia workshop

Godard invented the art of 'Jump cut' in film editing. The job of an editor is not to arrange the shots in order but also to tell a story through the scenes. The Department of Multimedia organised a workshop on 'Elements of Rhythm and Pace in Video Editing' on November 3, 2022. Shinjan Basu, Eminent Editor and Assistant Director conducted the workshop.

Basu showed the teaser of 'Pathan' and the opening scenes from 'City of God' as a reference to explain to the students the art of editing. Furthermore, Basu shared his industry experience with the students. He then went on to explain the various types and modes of editing.

The session was highly beneficial for the Multimedia students.
