ECE students learn the details of FM transmission through Prasar Bharati industry visit

Guglielmo Marconi is the inventor of the radio! However, Jagadish Chandra Bose is the ' Father of Wireless Telecommunication'. He had invented the Mercury Coherer, a radio wave receiver that was used by Marconi for the two-way radio!

On November 15, 2022, an industry visit to Prasar Bharati, Kolkata, by the ECE students rekindled the old story! After several security checks and administrative formalities, the students were taken to an FM transmitting centre building. In this place, they were taken a short class by Ranendra Chatterjee, an engineer working there. He explained each and every block of the systems through a PPT presentation. This included the models of the total systems block diagram of the FM transmitting section. After a brief theoretical class, the students were taken to the switching room, Power control room, and FM Transmitter control room.

The visit was a great benefit for the students to directly understand the various concepts of radio broadcasting done by Duradarsan Kendra. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implications.
