Workshop : Artificial Intelligence

The School of Management & Commerce of Brainware University organized a workshop on ‘Artificial intelligence in Industry 4.0: Role and Various Applications’ on May 29, 2021. In the wake of 21st century, the importance of technological advancements cannot be denied. It is with this objective of providing a deeper insight into the basic concepts of AI that the workshop was planned. The guest speaker, Dr. Akash Shrivastava, Research Scientist (Reliability and Condition Monitoring), Vadict Innovations Pvt Ltd., was invited to grace the occasion. With more than 90 participants, the session was conducted online through Google Meet.

The speaker took over the session with a general introduction to the topic, emphasizing its relevance in the modern times. “As AI emerges from reel-life to real-life to become the frontier of world-changing technologies, there is an urgent need for systematic development and implementation of AI to see its real impact in the next generation of industrial systems, namely Industry 4.0,” he said.

Thereafter, he highlighted the imminent innovations in industrial technology with particular reference to robotics, computers and equipment becoming connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) and enhanced by machine learning algorithms. He explained, “Industry 4.0 has the potential to be a powerful driver of economic growth. AI is one of the emerging technologies already being utilised by manufacturers to improve product quality, efficiency and for cutting down on operating costs.
