Unlocking success with digital transformation

Digital transformation as the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business resulting in fundamental changes to how businesses operate and how they deliver value to customers.Interest in the term digital transformation has skyrocketed in the last couple of years as businesses look to remain digitally agile and up to date with the rapid changes in technology.

To explain the different facets of the digital transformation journey, a workshop on ‘digital transformation journey’ was organised by the department of Physics of Brainware University on December 15, 2020. The session was graced by the presence of Mr. Soumalya Mondal (Solution Architect, Wipro) as the key speaker.

The session began with a brief introduction about digital transformation and then, Mr. Mondal talked about the various technologies that help digital transformation. He then focussed on the evolution and stages of digital transformation and how it is used to reimagine business strategies in the digital age.Mr. Mondal explained how digital transformation is a journey with multiple connected intermediary goals.

He then mentioned the challenges of digital transformation journey. Especially, he said, “in the wake of the pandemic, an organization's ability to adapt quickly to supply chain disruptions, time to market pressures, and rapidly changing customer expectations has become critical.” The informative session was followed by a Q&A session. It ended on a positive note with the key takeaways that digital transformation has fundamentally changed how companies create, monetize and defend value, giving companies the much-needed competitive edge.
