If there is a will, there is a way: Clinical Psychologist Ipsita Banik discusses the ways of suicide prevention

Clinical Psychologist-271

A rise in the use of social media and cyber victimisation has led to the number of suicides among adolescents and young adults. All the cases do not come up because of the embarrassment and stigmas associated with it. 10th September is celebrated as World Suicide Prevention Day.

In this regard, the Department of Psychology organised a seminar on 'Suicide Prevention: If there is a will, there is a way. Ipsita Banik, Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychologist (RCI Registered) was the guest speaker at the event. While addressing the students, Banik emphasised how a single suicide impacts many people and discussed the possible ways to prevent suicides. Sharing useful statistics, Banik pointed out that suicide has become the 4th leading cause of death.

The session was very useful for those who attended the session. The event tried to look into the causes of suicides and the ways by which they can be prevented.
