Assistant Innovation Director Dipan Sahu shared useful insights on entrepreneurship on World Entrepreneurs' Day

Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Jack Ma, all started with small steps but are successful entrepreneurs today. On the occasion of World Entrepreneurs' Day, Brainware University organised an event to motivate its students to become job creators rather than job-seekers. The event was organised by the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Management and Commerce on 20th August from 10 a.m onwards. Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell was the Chief Guest at the event and Dr. Sudipta Narayan Roy, Chairman, AYUSH National Task Force (ASSOCHAM) and MD, Powell Group was the Guest of Honour.

Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, Chancellor, Brainware University extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests. He recounted how he came up with the idea of 'Brainware' and started to go forward with his entrepreneurial venture though he was very successful as a Management Trainee with Hindustan Lever and as a Market Planner with the ABP Group.

While addressing the audience, Dr. Sudipta Narayan Roy said, "Entrepreneurship needs broad shoulders." He pointed out that bright minds come up with innovations but at the same time an entrepreneur has to be responsible and will have to will take the change forward by adding values to society.

Dipan Sahu referred to the fact that the word 'crisis' is denoted by two letters in the Chinese alphabet. The 1st letter signifies 'danger' and the second letter suggests 'opportunity'. Sahu motivated the young Management students to see these two things at the same time. He emphasised the importance of higher education institutions for the advancement of Science and technology that will pave the way for innovation.

The event was a thought-provoking experience for the teachers as well as the students will tend to approach the professional world from a different perspective.
