Let's make your own animation show! Industry visit at Cosmos Maya Animation Studio

From 'Inside Out'; 'Angry Birds' to 'Bahubaali' - animation, computer graphics, and visual effects have created wonders in the world of cinema. The students with a creative blend of minds can tell their own tales with the help of animation; the only thing required in this case is practical training and guidance.

In an attempt to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Department of Multimedia and Animation in collaboration with the Campus-to-Corporate department of Brainware University organised an industry visit to Cosmos Maya Animation Studio on May 7, 2022.

Amartya Kundu, Amit Kumer Jana and Subrata Saha on behalf of Maya Animation shared their vast experience and discussed the details of the 2D and 3D animation. Incidentally, Cosmos Maya is a Singapore and India-based animation company that produces high-quality 2D and 3D animated content. The company was founded by internationally acclaimed Indian filmmakers Ketan Mehta and Deepa Sahi.

Cosmos Maya is the studio behind popular animation shows like ‘Motu Patlu’, ‘Selfie with Bajrangi’, ‘Titoo’, ‘Eena Meena Deeka’, ‘And Dabangg’ among others. The Multimedia and Animation students got to learn how a 2D and 3D Animation project takes off from the pre-production stage to the completion of the project during the industry visit.

The students were briefed about the scope of the industry and what good practices they should follow to groom themselves for an animation career. The students also got to solve their queries during the Q&A session.

These industry visits and interactions with the industry professionals help the students to gain industry exposure and the chance to update them as per the requirements of the industry.
