The Department of Media Science and Journalism, Brainware University organised an international webinar on ‘The Role of Media Literacy in Media Education’. The session took place on October 31, 2022. Dr. Ammina Kothari, Director, Harrington School of Communication and Media, Rhode Island, interacted with the faculty members and students on the significance of media literacy in the post-truth era.
She focused on how the pandemic has changed communication patterns and made people more digitally dependent. Correspondingly it has become crucial to maintain digital hygiene. She also emphasised the identification of misinformation/disinformation and debunking them.
