While addressing the students at a session on 'The Importance of Internal and External Communication', Rita Das, Chief Coordinator, Communication and Development, Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute emphaised on the importance of communication in healthcare. "In case of a disease like cancer, you have to communicate with the whole patient party," she said.

The patients and their close relatives need to be informed about their case details. This is one of the major functions that the healthcare professionals need to perform.
