Awareness camp on cyber security at Faldi High School

On November 29, 2022, the Department of Media Science and Journalism in collaboration with the Department of Cyber Science and Technology of Brainware University organised an awareness camp on cyber security and media literacy at Faldi High School. The outreach activity was curated in order to help the school students develop critical thinking about the media content they consume through mainstream and social media. The students of Brainware University discussed the concepts of information manipulation, fake content, deep fake and cyber scams in order to help the school children fight against the avalanche of cybercrimes, misinformation and disinformation. The students also emphasised on the ethical usage of social media while encoding and decoding a content. The students were also provided with the informative posters and booklets promoting media and information literacy.
