An insightful session with healthcare experts

In recent decades, Global Biomedical Schools are being attracted to fundamental holistic approaches of AYUSH system and consequently have engaged to evidence of quality, safety, and efficacy of community health care practice. In this regard, a one-day seminar on 'Myths and Facts of AYUSH' was organised by the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Krishnendu Mohanta, Homoeopathic Medical Officer, Department of Health and family Welfare Government of West Bengal and Dr. Sinchan Das, Homoeopathic Physician, Researcher, Guest Professor, College of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences, Kalyani were the guest speakers at the event.

The objective of the seminar was to provide insight on the basic conceptual facts and myths of AYUSH system - Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy which are recognised as the six Indian systems of medicine.

The speakers discussed that community medicine focuses on illness prevention and health preservation as primary aims in order to attain health for all. Furthermore, Homoeopathy is also concerned with prevention and preservation.
