26 teams; 72 hours of creativity and one Winner: 72-Hour-Challenge: A short Filmmaking Competition

A short Filmmaking Competition

HOPE!

It is that element that gives a person the will to live!
It is that feeling that drives a depressed soul out of his bed in the morning!
It is that source of energy to love a bit harder and hate a little lesser!

Like every year, this year also, the Department of Multimedia organised '72-Hour-Challenge: A short Filmmaking Competition' was organised in collaboration with Deep Focus, the cine club of the university. 'Hope' was the theme for this year's competition. More than 26 teams registered for the competition and the audience witnessed a canvas of creativity from each team.

This short filmmaking is an annual event on the occasion of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's birth anniversary. In this competition, the registered students had to make a short film and submit it within 72 hours.

The students indeed mesmerised the judges and the audiences with their spectacular renditions on screen. Renowned actor and theatre artist Partha Sarathi Deb, filmmaker Rajesh Dutta and scriptwriter Ipsita Roy Sarkar were the judges at the competition.

‘Cosmic Reels’ won the competition with their impactful symbol of ‘Hope’ this year. The winners received gift vouchers from PVR Cinemas, Wow Momo and Zee5.
