IIC celebrates 'Women's Entrepreneurship Day' at Brainware University with women with many parts

Faculty Development Programme on Emerging Trends in Humanities and Social Sciences

'Women's Entrepreneurship Day' is celebrated on 19th November to honour and commemorate those ladies who are determined to break the stereotypes. The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Law and School of Management and Commerce organised a special session to celebrate 'Women Entrepreneurship Day'.
Former Calcutta High Court Judge Justice Samapti Chatterjee was present as the Chief Guest at the event. With her lively and jolly personality, Justice Chatterjee shared some valuable advice with the students. "To be a good entrepreneur, one needs to be a good person and human being," she said. "Everyday students are trying to achieve success. So, one needs to accept the challenge and go ahead," she added.
Special Guest Indrani Sengupta, Deputy Director of Employment (WBCS) started her session in a very interesting way. She dropped in names of popular brands - from Nykaa to Mobikwik- and asked the relation between all these brands. The answer was quite obvious! "All has either a woman MD or CEO," the audience responded.
Sengupta also pointed out then challenges that the women entrepreneurs face - initial finance, market penetration and regulations from the government. She also emphasised on an important factor for which the women entrepreneurs need encouragement. "Small scale women entrepreneurs are often not supported by their own families. One of the major setbacks for them is that they are unable to market their products due to this," she said.
The guests were of the opinion that women have to manage the households. This develops a sense of practical knowledge among them to develop products or ways to make daily lives easier and more useful. Young entrepreneur Kamalini Paul, MD, De Sovrani, Poz Hotels Food Aaj Kal and DC Paul Group Construction, shared her story from the naughtiest girl in school to a successful young entrepreneur. She took over the business reins after the sudden demise of her father. She shared her experience when her back was stuck against the wall during the COVID-19 pandemic when hospitality sector stuck a dead-end. However, she focused how this opportunity pusher her to come up with more innovations.
Her word of advice for the young budding entrepreneurs was that - "Every adversity has a hidden opportunity!"
In the end, a book titled ‘Juvenile Justice’ written by Dr. Kabita Chakraborty, Associate Professor, Department of Law, Brainware University was launched by the guests.

Experienced industry individuals share opportunities and prospects in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology organised a seminar on 'Opportunities, Challenges, and Rewards in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs' on November 2, 2022. Dr. Kamal Krishna Halder, Assistant Drugs Controller (India), Central Drug Standard Control Organisation, East Zone, Kolkata and Suman Kumar Ghosh, Founder Director, Mapasu e-learning, Kolkata were the guest speakers at the event.
While interacting with the students, Dr. Kamal Krishna Halder shared his vast experience in this sector. "The medical device industry is going to be a blooming sector," he informed.
Furthermore, the speakers highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration. They also pointed out the blooming sector of medical devices in the country which can offer various career prospects to Pharmacy students

Webinar on An IoT Based Smart Entrance Systems

Godard invented the art of 'Jump cut' in film editing. The job of an editor is not to arrange the shots in order but also to tell a story through the scenes. The Department of Multimedia organised a workshop on 'Elements of Rhythm and Pace in Video Editing' on November 3, 2022. Shinjan Basu, Eminent Editor and Assistant Director conducted the workshop.
Basu showed the teaser of 'Pathan' and the opening scenes from 'City of God' as a reference to explain to the students the art of editing. Furthermore, Basu shared his industry experience with the students. He then went on to explain the various types and modes of editing.

Synergy Medical Systems Zonal Manager highlights why newborn baby screening is need of the hour

The Department of Allied Health Sciences conducted a seminar on 'Importance of Newborn Baby Screening' on November 5, 2022, at the university auditorium.
The Guest Speaker Subhasis Maitra, Zonal Manager, Product, and Business Development, Synergy Medical Systems highlighted the importance of newborn baby screening and why it is the need of the hour at the seminar. "The screening tests for newborn babies are done to identify certain harmful or potentially fatal disorders which are not apparent at birth," Maitra explained.
Maitra started the session by asking the students about their conception of 'screening' and 'diagnosis'. He also cited the reasons for which screening has to be done.

Cognizant professional conducts a session for Multimedia students

"Have you people seen that the screenplays of Satyajit Ray are sketches of the scenes?" asked Rahul Ghosh, Senior Associate Cognizant Technology Solutions before the intrigued audience. The audience was comprised of Multimedia students and Ghosh was conducting a workshop on 'Story through Illustration' at the Drawing Lab of the university. The event took place on November 5, 2022.
"The first step towards designing is the idea or Philosophy behind it," said Ghosh and then he asked for possible story ideas from the students. "The Bongaon Local crowd!" one shouted. The illustrator proceeded to draw this story as the workshop progressed. It was an exciting session for the students as well as they got the chance to learn through a new technique. The workshop provided the opportunity for the students to gain exposure of the industry and how storyboarding work.

Workshop on 'Psychological Skill Building' for Nursing students

The job of an Optometrist is not only limited to examining eyes for treating defective vision but also to conduct a proper evaluation of the patients coming in OPD. In an attempt to update the students about their responsibilities after the course, the Department of Allied Health Sciences organised a one-day online workshop on 'Assessment and Management Non-Strabismic Binocular Dysfunction in Routine Clinical Practice'. The session took place on November 5, 2022.
Dr. Supriyo Chatterjee, HOD, Optometry, The Neotia University was the Guest Speaker at the event. In his powerpoint presentation, Dr. Chatterjee tried to create awareness on the importance of the proper method of assessment for patients who come for routine eye check-ups without complaint of any BSV anomalies.

Veteran Media personnel conducts a session on 'Media and its Evolution'

The Department of Multimedia in collaboration with the Department of Media Science organised a workshop on 'Media and its Evolution' on November 7, 2022. Saswata Chatterjee, a veteran in the Media industry who worked as the Channel Head of Voice 24 Tripura, Tripura's 1st satellite news channel, interacted with the students and highlighted how the media industry has evolved so far.
"I must say that this is a great opportunity for all the students here. I have visited many institutions, but few are equipped with any kind of infrastructure, labs, and post-production facilities. We never got these facilities during our student days," said Chatterjee. "Try to extract as much as possible from these facilities," he advised the Media Science and Multimedia students who were attending the workshop.
"Sir, how does a newsroom function?" a 1st-semester Media Science student asked the veteran media personnel. Chatterjee explained how a reporter gets a piece of news and then consults with the assignment desk and the subsequent processes till the news item is finally telecasted.
Hearing the minutest details of each of the processes from the 'Horse's Mouth' gave the students an idea about the newsroom. Chatterjee also shared with the budding media professionals how the industry has changed over the years. He highlighted how earlier the process was done and how it has evolved with time with the chip cameras and other modern equipment coming into play.

From the Cricket World Cup in England to the FIFA U-17 World - Dibyangshu Sarkar was steady behind the lenses. This eminent photojournalist conducted a workshop on 'Photography Techniques in Unconditional Light'. The event took place on November 12, 2022.
The session was very informative for the Multimedia students. The guest speaker discussed how to click a better picture in dark and low light conditions. Furthermore, he explained how a studio light setup is under the control of the photographer. "When the light is not under your control, you have your brain! A photo comes from a thought process that needs to be executed properly," he added.
At the workshop, Sarkar also showed several of his snaps to explain the process of clicking a picture.

AHS students attend an informative session on critical care management from Pain Management Specialist

On November 12, 2022, the Department of Allied Health Sciences organised a workshop on 'Ventilation and Critical Care Management' at the university auditorium. Dr. Manish De, Pain Management Specialist, CMRI Hospitals and ESI Sealdah was the Guest Speaker at the event.
Dr. De discussed the basics of face mask, ventilation, intubation and airway management with the paramedical students. He highlighted the approach the AHS students must undertake in critical cases. The AHS students also got an overview of their career options available ahead of them.
The session was very informative for the students, and they got a lot of information about their career prospects from the seminar.

International webinar discusses the career opportunities for Asian students

The Department of Management and Commerce organised an international webinar on '‘Career Opportunities for Asian Students’. The session took place on November 12, 2022. Mohammad Sozon, Founder and CEO, Enlightened-World Foundation was the guest speaker at the session.
While addressing the students, he focused on the culturally and historically diverse areas of Asia that provide opportunities for students to discover new global perspectives. Sozon highlighted the fact that economic transformations in Asia have reshaped the global, economic and political environment. He also added that graduates of Asian Studies programs seek work in a variety of careers, including but not limited to government and public service, international relations, NGOs, teaching, intelligence and security work, journalism, business, and academic research.

'Black Mirror' is one of the most popular web series among the young generation. Many of its episodes deal with the future crimes in the digital space. Last year, the minds of the superhero fans were blown by multiverse saga of 'Spiderman'. The Department of Cyber Science and Technology organised a seminar dealing with a subject, far more practical and realistic than 'multiverse' - 'Future Crimes in the Metaverse'.
Subhendu Chakraborty, Technical Expert, Department of IT and Electronics, Government of West Bengal was the guest speaker for the session. He started the session with the rules of the metaverse. While addressing the students, he highlighted the roles of the Cyber Science and Technology students in this respect. He spoke about the forensic audit of the CA firms where the CST students will come into play!

Optometry Council of India Project Manager discusses the future prospects with Optometry students

The Department of Allied Health Sciences organised an 'OCI Student Talk' on November 16, 2022. Urmi Gogri, M. Optom., FBDO, Advocacy and Project Manager, OCI, joined online for the session.
In this context, it must be noted that the Indian Optometry Federation (IOF) and the Association of Schools and Colleges of India (ASCO) have together established a private, peer regulating Optometry Council of India (OCI) in September 2012 to certify and regulate the competence and standards of Optometrists and of Optometry schools and colleges.
The main objective of the session organised by the AHS department was to help the students to know their professions and future prospects in the field of Optometry. The students were informed about the development and implementation of a standard national curriculum for optometry, its development and implementation.

It was not just a seminar session but also a reunion for Sanchali Basu, Director of Pharmacy, PAM Rehab Hospital of Sugar Land. She met with her Jadavpur University classmate Dr. Bhakti Bhusan Barik who happens to be the HOD of Pharmaceutical Technology at Brainware University. On November 17, 2022, the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology organised a seminar on 'Pharmacy Education and Career Prospects in USA'.
While addressing the students, she discussed her career progress in the US. She also pointed out some important suggestions for the students who are currently pursuing Pharmaceutical Technology, and left some important advice for them to pursue a career in the USA.

CSS students to be a part of revolution in the roads of Kolkata

Snap-E cabs have brought in a revolution in the roads of Kolkata. From canceling rides to surging charges - app cab services have turned out to be highly disappointing for the public. EC Wheels has also come up with a substitute under the brand Snap-E cabs which are electric vehicles in the app cab business looking forward to enhancing their market footprint.
On November 19, 2022, Subhendu Saha, Solution Consultant, Snap-E and Shamik Halder, Principal Consultant (Technical), Snap-E conducted a workshop on this venture. 'Innovation on Kolkata Roads - An Introduction with Snap-E- Cabs' was the title of the workshop. The event was organised by the Institution's Innovation Council in collaboration with the Department of Computational Science.
Snap-E runs EV cabs in Kolkata at a fixed rate without any surge charges. At the workshop, the Snap-E officials discussed the mobile application feature and other processes with the CSS students.

National Press Day witnessed Zine Fest organised by the Media Science and Journalism department

There could not have been a better way to celebrate National Press Day! An exhibition of photographs, posters, and zines attracted huge crowds in the campus. The Department of Media Science and Journalism chose National press day, i.e, November 16, to organise 'Crescendo - The Zine Fest'.
A zine is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. Basically, they are self-published unique works of minority interest, usually reproduced through a photocopier. The Media Science and Journalism produced interesting zines on a wide array of pertinent topics and trivia including ‘Beauty Doesn’t Have Any Weight Limit’; ‘Digital Detox’; ‘The Rape Culture’; ‘The World of Ray’; 'Placed to visit in West Bengal' and more!
A photography and poster competition also took place, and they were exhibited in the university campus. "One of the unique features of this zine fest was that artworks were produced on used papers. Our students wanted to promote the importance of recycling through this gesture," said Dr. Shatabdi Som, HOD, Department of Media Science and Journalism.
One of the major attractions at the Zine Fest was the 'Rap Jam' session! Students from various departments stepped into their 'Gully Boy' shoes and expressed their voices in rap music.
The vibrant ambiance in and around the campus was a perfect setting for the fest!

On November 19, 2022, the Department of Multimedia put up a splendid spectacle with the Creative Fest. The students were delighted to get the chance to show their creativity and what they created was bewilderment for all.
Students and faculty members from other departments visited the art and craft exhibition put up by the Department of Multimedia. The digital canvas was also conquered by the students with some extraordinary artworks. The students also made some interesting video reels and captivated the audience with some fascinating photographs.
A cultural programme was also organised by the students at the university auditorium which was designed with some mesmerising performances of singing and dancing. Parag Roy, HOD, the Department of Graphics was the Chief Guest at the event. Referring to the timeless masterpiece of Satyajit Ray 'Sonar Kella', he reminded the students of a dialogue by Sidhu Jyatha - "Keep the windows of your heart open!" This is one of the most important qualities of an artist.
He suggested to the students, "Bring in the X-factor in your art. Other than the technique, visual art will have to go through various changes."
The event ended with a ravishing ramp walk which was enjoyed by the students to a great deal!

From extempore, debate to awareness rallies; Brainware University observes Central Vigilance Week with a host of activities

The observance of Central Vigilance Week is taken up in India for all the stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of corruption. This year, Central Vigilance Week was observed from October 31, 2022, to November 6, 2022. The theme for this year was 'Corruption-free India for a developed nation'. In this regard, Brainware University in collaboration with the Department of Law orgsanised several activities to observe Central Vigilance Week.
The week started with the integrity pledge on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 'Iron Man of India'. Intending to build a future corruption-free India, the faculty members and students of Brainware University took the integrity pledge in the presence of Anandita Das, Assistant Registrar, Brainware University. The faculty members and students pledged to participate in anti-corruption measures through various programs and contribute to building a better future. "Any kind of amendments, modifications, improvisations start from the start," said Anandita Das at the end of the pledge.
An awareness rally took place from the Brainware University campus to Champadali Bus Stop on the same day. The students walked with banners and posters on 'Anti-Corruption'.
On November 2, 2022, Amrita Das Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Brainware University spoke about the annihilation of corruption from all spheres of life. At a seminar on 'Judicial Accountability'. He asked a question - 'What does democracy mean?'. Das Gupta then went on to explain how the democratic society came into existence. "Earlier people used to fight among themselves like animals. Then they realised that we are the greatest creation and if we annihilate then who will rule? From this, people took a supreme authority - sovereignty," said Das Gupta.
A debate competition also took place on that day. The motion for the final round of the competition was 'The House Believes that Social Media is a Threat to Democracy'. The passionate debaters expressed their views for and against the motion. Important interventions were made by the adjudicators during the rebuttal rounds.
On November 3, a seminar on 'Good Governance and Grass Root Level Democracy' was held. Sougato Patra, BDO, Barasat was present at the event. "Corruption is deeply rooted in our society. To get this out, we have to change ethically," said Patra. Patra highlighted the importance of 'transparency' at micro and macro-level governance to develop a corruption-free society. "We need a responsive government who will come up with prompt solutions," he added.
A seminar on 'Framework of Anti-corruption Laws in India' was also held on the latter part of the day. Soumyajit Raha, Special Public Prosecutor, CID, Government of West Bengal was the Guest Speaker. "We all love our country, but we know that it is not corruption-free," he said. Raha pointed out that this illegal behaviour takes place when someone is in a position of authority and expects to get benefitted. He further said that corruption can happen anywhere and highlighted the role of lawyers to fight it.
An extempore competition took place the next day, that is, November 4. It was followed by a seminar on 'Anti-corruption Laws and its Application in India'. Abhimanyu Shandilya, Founder, Vidhikarya conducted the session. The one-week-long programme finally concluded with a seminar on 'An Overview of Arbitration and Concillation Act 1996 - A Step Towards Equitable Justice'. Advocate Shrayashee Das, Principal Legal Associate from one of the top law firms in the city, Sinha and Co. Associates conducted the session. She highlighted the difference between 'Arbitration' and 'Mediation' to budding lawyers.
The observance of Central Vigilance Week at Brainware University is certainly going to be an example of the role that academic institutions should play to shape young minds against corruption.

Even after 100 years of the discovery of insulin, millions of people globally with diabetes cannot access the care they need, as per UNO. In 2014, 422 million adults were living with diabetes compared to 108 million in 1980. The number of diabetes patients rose from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. UNO further stated that in 2019, diabetes and kidney disease due to diabetes caused an estimated 2 million deaths. Every year 14th November is celebrated as World Diabetes Day to spread awareness of this deadly disease among the common people.
On World Diabetes Day, students from the Department of Allied Health Sciences walked in an awareness rally explaining why diabetes should be treated early and how a delay in treatment can prove to be fatal! A spectacular performance was also put up by the students through a street play to spread awareness on diabetes treatment.
The students also resorted to a unique strategy for awareness. A selfie stand highlighting important trivia regarding the ill effects of diabetes and precautions was put up at the auditorium where a seminar on 'Total Quality Management in Healthcare' took place. Dr. Mitadru De Sarkar, Laboratory Head and Quality In-Charge, Calcutta Heart Clinic and Hospital; Dr. Soma Gupta, HOD, Department of Biochemistry, NRS Medical College; Dr. Arindam Chakraborty, Consultant Microbiologist, FORTIS Hospital and Dr. Priyanka Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, NRS Medical College spoke about different issues related to diabetes at the seminar.
The students also took part in a poster competition that focused on various diabetes-related issues.

One-day industry visit at BSNL training centre for ECE students

How does various telecom equipment work - from wired to wireless? The ECE students decoded the functioning of a telecom organisation from their industrial visit to BSNL training centre at Kalyani. The industry visit was organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) on November 2, 2022.
The students visited the following sections of BSNL training centre:

  • Broadband Technology Section
  • MDF (Main distribution function)
  • BTS
  • Optical Fiber Cable and System Section
  • Switching

Sub-divisional engineers Tarun Kumar Mondal and Saral Chakraborty showed the students real cables, their working procedure and functioning parts of the distribution unit. The industrial visit to BSNL was highly beneficial to the students in understanding the concepts of telecommunication and networking principles in their studies.

The Department of Media Science and Journalism organised an exclusive masterclass with Prahlad Kakkar (Founder, Genesis Film Production) at Heritage Academy on November 5, 2022 at 10 AM.
It is a gift to find an individual with as much command over his field as Mr. Kakkar and the students made the best use of the opportunity. Guided by the gentle charm of Mr. Kakkar students were able to understand the fascinating professional world of Media and the innumerable opportunities lying in store for them. “Without sir I would never have thought advertising is a prospective career field for me, now I might just explore this more,” remarked a student who had always preferred to remain within more traditional sectors of Media science.
As an industry leader, Mr Kakkar introduced students to the slowly emerging job areas that don’t receive as much attention. He instructed them on the best ways to become successful within the advertising industry and motivated them to nurture their creative instinct. The session ended with an enthusiastic round of questions from the students and a promise on their part to cultivate their interest in the field.
The department plans to organise similar events for the students in the future so that they will receive greater exposure and the privilege to bridge the campus and industry divide. The shining stars of Brainware University must continue to thread new paths towards excellence.

Law students of Brainware University take part in 'Haq Hamara Bhi To Hain' campaign; visit prisons and childcare institutions

Tagore's 'Balmiki Pratibha' finds a new objective in the mission of Brainware University's students. Students from the Department of Law of the university were involved in the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) campaign under the theme 'Haq Hamara Bhi To Hain'! The campaign took place from 31st October to 13th November. The primary aim of the campaign was to provide legal assistance to the individuals confined in prisons and childcare institutions.
This is such a special way to instill the spirit of freedom on the 75th year of independence. The field visits comprised of panel lawyers, community paralegal volunteers consisting of selected students from certain reputed institutions including Brainware University, psychologists etc.
This exercise was very important for the Law students from various perspectives. They got the chance to interact with the juveniles over Q&A answer sessions. Ipsita Choudhuri Jana, Assistant Professor, Department of Law who accompanied the students observed, "Most of the trials were running under the Foreigner’s Act. My observation was that as most of the juveniles are from a very tender age group, so they are quite insensible with what phase they are going through."
During this campaign, a legal awareness camp was also organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of North 24 Parganas at Titumir Hall, Barasat. The students were also a part of this legal aid camp. The camp mainly popularised the functions of legal aid camps among the people.

Guglielmo Marconi is the inventor of the radio! However, Jagadish Chandra Bose is the ' Father of Wireless Telecommunication'. He had invented the Mercury Coherer, a radio wave receiver that was used by Marconi for the two-way radio!
On November 15, 2022, an industry visit to Prasar Bharati, Kolkata, by the ECE students rekindled the old story! After several security checks and administrative formalities, the students were taken to an FM transmitting centre building. In this place, they were taken a short class by Ranendra Chatterjee, an engineer working there. He explained each and every block of the systems through a PPT presentation. This included the models of the total systems block diagram of the FM transmitting section. After a brief theoretical class, the students were taken to the switching room, Power control room, and FM Transmitter control room.
The visit was a great benefit for the students to directly understand the various concepts of radio broadcasting done by Duradarsan Kendra. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implications.

The School of Management and Commerce of Brainware University signed an MoU with Livingstone College for an academic and cultural interchange.
This success by the Brainware students will certainly fuel this initiative for further accomplishments! This achievement would not have been possible without the support of their professor, Dr. Saileswar Ghosh!

CSS professors are registered and granted with a German patent for IoT based agronomy device

The faculty members from the Department of Computational Sciences have been registered and granted witha German patent for a smart solution for detection of diseases of betel leaves. The members are involving agronomy with IoT devices. The primary objective the future research work will develop a complete system which consists of a trained model along with an application for smart mobile devices with features such as displaying recognized diseases in betel leaves, based on leaf images captured by the mobile phone camera. This application will serve as an aid to cultivators, enabling fast and efficient recognition of plant diseases and facilitating the decision-making process when it comes to the use of chemical pesticides.

It was a proud moment for the Brainware family as Dr. Prasenjit Mondal's new textbook titled 'A Textbook of Pharmaceutical Analysis' was released in the presence of Mr. Abhijit Chakraborti, Ex Deputy Drug Controller, West Bengal; Dr. Tapos Roy Choudhuri, Head, Eastern Zone, Johnson & Johnson; Dr Raja Chakraborty, Research Scientist, ICMR and SSKM Hospital and Dr. Bhakti Bhusan Barik, HOD, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Brainware University, at an event to commemorate 61st National Pharmacy Week.
Dr. Prasenjit Mondal, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology has written the book in collaboration with Dr. Sumanta Mondal, Associate Professor, Gitam University, Visakhapatnam. The book has been published by Global Net Publishers (An imprint of Asian Humanities Press), New Delhi, India.

“We must not for a moment forget, it is a birthright of every individual to receive at least the basic education without which he cannot fully discharge his duties as a citizen.” - Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Every year the 11th of November is celebrated as 'National Education Day' to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of English and Literary Studies celebrated 'National Education Day'.
On this occasion, students at the university occupied the centre stage and expressed themselves through various means like posters, recitations and speeches at the 'National Education Day' event. The purpose of education is to instill a sense of analytical reasoning among the people. The objective of Brainware University also coincides with this purpose. The university is not only concerned with the academic curriculum but also mentors young minds for a holistic approach.
At the event on 'National Education Day', students added a perspective of 'education as a social evil' through their poster presentations. They spoke about the evolution of education in India and reflected on the 'true purpose of education'.
Allover, it was a thought-provoking afternoon for the students and faculty members.

From ‘Sohoj Pak’ to renal diet - the students from the Institute of Nursing put up a spectacular show with diets for Diabetic patients and also for Anaemic patients. The objective of the program was to improve knowledge about nutrition and how to change food habits that cause poor health!

The Pharmacy students took part in an awareness rally to mark the beginning of 61st National Pharmacy Week. The theme for the rally was 'Pharmacy of the World'. The students made placards and posters related to various Pharmaceutical Technology topics and walked around the roads of Barasat. This initiative of the Pharmaceutical Technology department was a point of discussion among the passers-by. The neighbouring people were much impressed with this activity of the students. "We can learn so many things from these rallies," said one. The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology has planned a host of activities to celebrate the 61st National Pharmacy Week!

The Department of English and Literary Studies organised ‘Rock the Talk’, a group discussion competition on November 18, 2022. The competition was designed to give an idea of the placement drives to the students. It was also a delight to hear the students rock the stage with their views on climate change and way out from the crisis, reducing wealth gap etc.
