Media being one of the most powerful tools, plays an important role in restorative justice. In this regard, the Department of Media Science and Journalism organised an international webinar on 'Role of media in restorative justice.
Dr. Howard Zehr, Distinguished Professor, Centre for Justice and Peacebuilding, USA was in conversation with Sudipta Bhattacharjee, Fulbright Fellow and Adjunct Professor, Department of MSJ, BWU and Dr. Paranjoy Bordoloi, Fulbright Conflict, Resolution Fellow for the event.

Encouraging innovations to shape future entrepreneurs: IIC webinar discusses

If the young minds are groomed properly and their innovations are encouraged, future entrepreneurs can be shaped! In an aim to develop and strengthen the quality of entrepreneurship, the Department of Allied Health Sciences in collaboration with Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) organised an online workshop on 'Entrepreneurship and innovation as a career opportunity'.
Dr. Biswarup Ghosh, Senior Research Investigator: Dept. of Ophthalmology, Center for Advanced Retinal and Ocular Therapeutics (CAROT), University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine was the guest speaker at the event.

2-day radiology upskilling programme in collaboration with Siemens Healthcare

As a part of the institute-interface programme, the Department of Allied Health Sciences in collaboration with Siemens Healthcare organised a workshop on 'Radiology Upskilling Programme Level-1' for two days.
The workshop was an enriching experience for the paramedical students who got the chance to enhance their knowledge on different radiological modalities like X-ray, CT scan, MRI etc. The programme was moderated by Monalisha Majumdar Gupta, Application Specialist, Siemens Healthcare.

Seminar on psychological development of students attended by faculty members

Apart from providing quality education, Brainware University is committed to ensure the mental well-being of the students. A series of seminars on 'Psychological Development of the Students' was organised to discuss this issue with the faculty members. Binati Mondal, Student Counsellor conducted the seminar.
The common problems faced by the students and how the teachers cam deal with such problems were discussed during this interactive event.

However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not only restricted to Jarvis and MCU! It is one of the latest technological trends.
The CSE department in collaboration with Institution Innovation Council (IIC) organised an online event on 'Artificial Intelligence in Real World'. Dr. Sibani Mohapatra, Consulting Partner, Higher Education Unit, TCS ION discussed how AI helps in making human lives easier. The students had an enriching experience at the event.

CSE webinar teaches students to design their own Android apps

Those who are pursing Engineering, industrial exposure and technical sessions are very important for the execution of their knowledge. In this regard, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organised a webinar on 'Industrial training and Internship on Android Apps' in association with Webskitters Technology Solutions.
Sankhadeep Ghosh on behalf of Webskitters was the speaker at the event. Ghosh discussed about the specialized software designed to offer users the means to use their devices for certain additional purposes.

2-day workshop on 'Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis' for Management students

In order to encourage the students with their research interests, the School of Management and Commerce organised a two-day online workshop on 'Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis'.
The workshop helped in providing a broad overview in the field of research and also guided those with an research aptitude to publish authoritative literature reviews.
Dr. Satish Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, MNIT (Jaipur), was the speaker at the event.

10-day long FDP organised by CSE department to 'upskill' the faculty members

A 10-day long faculty development programme (FDP) was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) on 'Teaching Learning Process and Assessment'. Eminent personalities from the field of academia and industry participated in this programme.
The primary object of these FDPs is 'upskill' as due to these programmes the younger and the experienced faculty members get to interact with each other and can share their knowledge, experience and skills to meet the current expectations.

CSE faculty members attend workshop on Digital Electronics

To discuss about the practical approaches on Digital Electronics, an one-day workshop was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Sitikantha Chattopadhyay, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, BWU conducted the workshop and the faculty members of the CSE department attended the workshop.
The event was an enriching experience for the faculty members as the workshop involved hands-on experiments with bread board and Ics.

National workshop discusses the application of HPLC method in Pharmaceuticals

High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is an incredibly useful analytical technique with a broad range of applications. The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology organised a one-day national workshop on 'Handling & Application of HPLC method in Pharmaceuticals' in collaboration with Waters. The faculty members of the department and research scholars attended this workshop.
Dr. Alok K Hazra, Ex-scientist, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Narendrapur, was the Chief Speaker at the event.

Welcome to Brainware family! Academic session 2022-23 kicks off with online Student Induction Programme (SIP)
|
|
The first day of setting foot in college holds mixed emotions - exciting, anticipating, hopeful and also a little frightened! To do away with this 'worry', Brainware University is conducting online Student Induction Programme (2022) with the students joining for the academic session 2022-23. The first phase began from July 20 and continued till August 2.
The idea of this induction programme is to welcome the new students in this Brainware family and to introduce them with the university. The students are informed about the campus life they are going to have here and the various amenities and facilities that the college will provide.
A 'Bridge Course on Communication Skills' has also been introduced in this year's SIP where the newcomers are being trained on how to enhance their communication skills. The students are enjoying this induction programme and we are looking forward to see them in campus!

Students and staffs got free booster jab at COVID-19 booster dose drive

|
A free COVID-19 booster dose drive took place at Brainware University from 11 a.m onwards. The event took place in collaboration with Chhota Jagulia Hospital. About 600 individuals registered for the booster dose.
The staffs and the students of the university got their booster jabs from the drive. Both Covaxin and Covishield vaccines were available at the drive.

'World Nature Conservation Day' celebrated by a tree plantation programme at the university campus

'The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.'

Not just one step, Brainware University has not just taken one step but is committed to the conservation of Nature. On the occasion of 'World Nature Conservation Day' on 28th July, the departments of Biotechnology and Agriculture organised a tree plantation programme in the 9-acre campus of the university.
The students and the staff members were elated to take part in this event.

Tapping the talent pool

Our students are our pride! They do not only strive for academic excellence but have a keen interest in art. The Student Induction Programme (SIP) got to witness their creativity during the Talent Hunt segment.
This was an opportunity for the newcomers to showcase their talents in various fields.There was a host of performances from the students - singing, dancing, recitation etc. Many students stole the show by displaying their amazing paintings and the pictures they have clicked.
It was a fun and laughter filled segment for the students.

Hands-on training for Optometry students at outreach camp

Brainware University is determined to uplift the lives of people as well as to train its students into becoming better human beings. It organised an one-day outreach camp at Hatpukuria in Canning for the Optometry students.
The field of clinical practice in optometry only becomes effective when the students are more exposed to hands-on training. The students performed vision screening using Snellens VA charts (both distant and near). Retinoscopes and Auto-refractometer were used for screening Refractive Error. Blood group and glucose testing were also done in the camp.

Agriculture students get real-time information from farmers in an interactive session

The students of Brainware University get industry exposure and hands-on training to enhance their professional skills. As a part of its outreach programme, the faculty members and the students of Agriculture department visited Kotra village.
At the Kotra Gram Panchayat office, the students interacted with the farmers where they got an idea about real-time information on major cultivated crops in pre-kharif, kharif and rabi seasons on different lands.
The faculty members delivered a lecture on 'Participatory Rural Appraisal' where they discussed the development map of the village.

Free eye check-up outreach programme for optometry students

The Allied Health Science department expose their students to clinical practice so that they can be enhanced professional individuals.
In this regard, the Bachelor of Optometry students attended an outreach camp at Sikdespukuria where they participated in a free eye check up camp for the people of the neighbouring villages.
This was an enriching experience for the students as they got to know about screening patients at community eye care.

Our Films, Their Films: Multimedia students conducts international short film festival at EZCC

There are budding Satyajit Rays and Ritwik Ghataks amidst us, we have to spot them. The Department of Animation & Multimedia provides its students with the opportunity to express themselves.
In this regard, the Department of Multimedia and Deep Focus, the Cine Club of the university conducted 'Bengal Shorts - International Competitive Short Film Festival'. The 3-day event was organised by ROSTRUM at EZCC, Salt Lake. The participation of the Multimedia students showcased their promise in silver screen story-telling!

BWU signs MoU with Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya: Collaboration aimed at promoting quality education

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Brainware University and Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, Purba Medinipur. Mahua Pal, Registrar, BWU and Dr. Swapan Kumar Misra, Principal, Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya were present at the signing.
This collaboration between the two institutions is set to promote quality education to students by possible academic, cultural, extra-curricular and personnel exchanges.

BWU signs MoU on Internet Research Network (IRN) with India Internet Foundation (IIFON)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Brainware University and India Internet Foundation (IIFON) to initiate the collaboration on Internet Research Network (IRN). This collaboration is certainly going to facilitate the students who are interested in pursuing research in this domain.

Industry visit at Webskitters Academy for CSE students

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) organised an one-day industry visit on ‘Enhancement of domain knowledge in the field of Web Development’ to Webskitters Academy on June 30.
This industry visit was an enriching experience for the students who experienced hands-on training. The students also got to satisfy their queries by interacting with the industry professionals.

An industry visit to the 'Indian School of Ethical Hacking' (ISOEH) at Salt Lake was organised by the Department of Cyber Science and Technology to provide industry exposure to the students of Advanced Networking and Cyber Security.
The students got to know about the industrial aspect of cyber security and its challenges. Furthermore, they also to got an idea about the live projects from this industry visit.

To provide clinical exposure to the Bachelor of Optometry students, a value added course (VAC) on 'Vision Therapy' was organised by the Department of Allied Health Sciences at Sunetra Family Eye Care for 7 days. The session was moderated by Neena Biswas, HOD, Optometry, Sunetra Family Eye Care.
During the span of this course, the students got to practice with various instruments like accommodative flippers, vergence flippers, maddox rod, Brock string, life saver card and MIM card.
